Don't through the opener out just yet - that's a little extreme.
Your AcessMaster has 2 blue adjustment screws on the right side or rear panel of the overhead unit. The are labeled "open force" and "close force" (you might need to remove a light bulb cover to find these adjustments). Try turning your "open force" setting up a bit. There will be a small numbered sequence around the screw with "1,3,5,7,9" on it. If your open force is at 3, turn it to 5, and so on. If you have to max it out to 9, it means that there is something wrong with your garage door, and not the opener. Turning up the forces causes the opener to push a little harder against any resistance before it decides that there is something in the way.

This same thing happened to me a few months ago. At first the door would open up almost all the way, then clicking it again it would open another foot. Eventually it got so that it would only open a few inches at a time. How annoying.
My father told me the motor in the opener was going in it, so I had to buy a new opener. My overhead garage door was ugly, so I replaced that along with the opener. Looks nice now. Paid about $200 with tax for the opener. Installer charges about $50 - $100 to install the opener.
Sucks having a garage that you can't use... ick.
In the meantime you may be able to manually open the door.
Good luck.

Well it could be the track that's dirty and needs to be cleaned and oiled, try oiling the lift chain as well or replace the lift chain and coil because it might not be strong enough anymore to lift it. Sometimes things get lodged up on the track, that sucker needs to be free of any obstructions to operate properly. Make sure you shut off the power to it before performing maintenance.

It sounds like you've lost the opener. It is controlled by a circuit board. If you've tried the limits and there are no obstructions then you've, probably, lost the opener.
Bottom line: if everything is working but the door doesn't work then it's probably the unit itself.

Sounds like the limit switches have been vibrated out of adjustment or trash or debris is obstructing the travel.

You might just need to replace your garage door springs with something like this http://www.garagedoornation.com/products/garage-door-springs

Another possible reason: the springs have gotten weak. Springs can be replaced with heavier ones.
