** If you haven't read the book, don't read on, it will spoil it.

My thought is: In the last book, do you think Dumbledore will be able to talk to Harry through his portrait in the Headmistress's office? I was wondering why not... even though J.K. Rowling insists he's "dead", all the previous Headmasters and Headmistresses that have died can talk in their portraits in the head office, right? Just a thought, because at the end of the Half-Blood Prince, she made it sound like Dumbledore was just a regular portrait hanging there, still and quiet. Perhaps a bit of deception?

This little bit of info is very important, because without Dumbledore's help, I think Harry is pretty screwed... there are already rumors that J.K. will finish him off in the last book, but if he can still communicate with, and learn more from Dumblerore, I think he'll triumph. What do you guys think?

Yes, I think that Dumbledore will be able to talk to Harry through his portrait in the Headmistress's office. Also, like other important witches and wizards he will have portraits in other locations, which may turn out to be helpful. I think Dumbledore's portrait was sleeping at the end of HBP because she is saving him speaking for Book 7. Also, aside from his portrait, Dumbledore may have left a bottled memory behind that could help Harry.

His portrait is like the Marauder's Map, by the way, just an imprint of his likeness, not his soul trapped in the object (reread Prisoner of Azkaban if you don't remember where that was explained). And Dumbledore would NOT have created a Horcrux because it would require that he do the ultimate act of evil: killing. He wouldn't want to tear his soul, he believed that it was important to have an intact soul *and* he said that death was the next big adventure. He clearly didn't fear passing on because if he had, he would have chosen to remain as a ghost.

Well look. Daniel Radcliffe wants Harry to die in the next book because he doesn't want any other person to place the character he has portrayed.
I think that Dumbledore will still be headmaster because he's portrait is there. I've also being thinking...Maybe Dumbledore created the portrait as a horcrux related to himself? Then he's technically still alive. And why do yo think JK keeps on insisting that he's dead? Cause he's not really! More than likely Harry will inherit the poratrai or something like that and Dumbledore will still help him.

I imagine after a bit of rest Dumbledore will be able to communicate with Harry the same way the previous headmasters/mistresses can. I believe this is why the point was made about his portrait hanging in the Headmasters office.

confident! study THEM! - the flicks do no longer even have 0.5 the magic that the books contain. - The storylines are plenty extra stated, there are issues that don't even happen interior the flicks because of the fact of time regulations and what no longer. as an occasion, Harry's seventeenth party. - Harry is plenty funnier/wittier and so are the books - the friendship between Ron and Harry isn't conveyed very nicely interior the movies imo. this is unquestionably staggering interior the books - Harry and Ginny interior the books are infinitely extra effective than their action picture opposite numbers - video clips are somebody else's interpretation - You get a extra effective expertise of the characters, relatively interior the 0.5 Blood Prince - extra Quidditch interior the books! And the books detect extra of the little issues while the flicks well-known concentration is the better plot line.

I think Dumbledore will life on. I mean look at Harry's parents they are always trying to help him. I know that several other writers have begged J.K. Rowling's not to kill Harry off BUT I don't see how else the series could end.

You know, after book 6, not much that she does with those characters would surprise me any more. They've gone from being young students in a prestigious school, to soldiers fighting a war of good against evil. The books have gone from innocent to more adult in actions and emotion, and it just wouldn't surprise me in this last book, with what ever it is she plans to have them do.

Yes! It is the perfect way for him to continue advising Harry. All the portraits continue to act the way the person painted there did in real life, with their personality and idiosyncrasy's intact.
Makes you wonder if they are a copy of the person portrayed, or their spirit trapped(?).
