Great question. They most likely won't, leaving a question often asked after a Democratic President does something......"NOTHING".

The question is does the president have enough power to fight against terrorism? You see if the president is a coward and will not stand for a change then he risking the lives of many people. A democratic president must understand that he must always do what is best for the citizens. So unless he doesn't want the country to be destroyed and disappear from the face of the earth he will take charge and do the best he can to fight terrorism.
But there a war is not the only option to stop terrorism. That is why we have democracy.

Hmmm, lets see. The World Trade Center was bombed in 1993. Under a democratic president the plotters were captured and are in prison today. The US was not attacked for the remaining 7 years of his presidency. 8 months after a republican took over the US was hit by the worst attack in American history. 5 years later the man responsible has not been captured. ONE MAN.
I'll take the democratic president any day.

From the responses I see here I would say the republican propaganda machine has convinced some that Democrats are weak against terrorists and unable to fight a war. I find that odd because the Republican party under Dwight D. Eisenhower lead us in to Vietnam. The Democratic party lead to victory in WWII.
The void people speak of is now Afghanistan because we took our eyes off the terror war and went to Iraq. Another Republican mistake.
Democrats are well capable of fighting, and many of the leaders have first hand experience in war, unlike our current Republican leader.
So before you fall for the propaganda of Democrats being unable to fight, read your histroy.

if a democratic pres is elected the first step would be to strengthen our army at home by withdrawing troops from i raq and afaganistan having a large force at home is much more important than in a country such as iraq we have done no good here it gets worse everyday i know first hand the second would be to do something unheard of for democrats and not start a gun control debate the united states public being armed is one key step to survival from foriegn or domestic criminals and terrorists

They won't, they will pull the troops out of Iraq, leaving a vacuum for the terrorists to fill and then downsize the military again, weakening it even more.

A democrat will probably try to appease the terrorists, and keep it up until we are all dead or enslaved.
A liberal democrat will say that we are the terrorists.
