siddharth the 'rich youngster' roles umpteenth times, he manages to bring freshness to the role of "Siddhu". He did really well in the emotional scenes which is usually difficult for many of our heroes who seem to ham all the way.

He starred in Prabhu Deva’s debut directorial venture, has a penchant for languages and was not too keen to star in RDB initially, in spite of knowing Aamir Khan was going to be a co-star! Meet the southern blue-eyed boy, Siddharth who has lived life on his terms from the word go!
Siddharth may have bowled everyone over with his performance in Rang De Basanti but, when he moved to Chennai from Mumbai after an MBA from the S P Jain Institute of Management, acting was not part of his plans. It was thanks to his mentors, cinematographer P C Sreeram and his brother Jayendra, that he got a prized assignment -- that of assisting Mani Ratnam in Kannathil Muthamittal.

He did his schooling in DAV, Chennai and Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Delhi. He got his B.Com (Hons.) degree from Kirori Mal College, New Delhi. He was a national and international debator at university level. He completed his MBA from S.P Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai, and in 1999, was declared the CNBC "Complete Manager of the year" in a prestigious nationwide talent search. However, Siddharth started in films as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam, for the critically acclaimed Tamil film Kannathil Muthamittal. His first role was in Boys as "Munna", directed by S. Shankar and produced by A.M.Ratnam. His mentor Mani Ratnam then offered him a role in the Tamil film Aayitha Ezhuthu. His first lead role was the role as Santosh in the Telugu film Nuvvostanante Nenoddantana (2005) opposite Trisha Krishnan, which was commercially successful. In 2006, he was chosen to play "Karan", one of the protagonists in the Bollywood movie Rang De Basanti, which released in January 2006. This film went on to become a cult classic and was also a blockbuster. His recent Telugu movie, Bommarillu has been declared a super hit, and is projected to cross the Rs.25 crore mark.

He started in the business as an assistant director to Mani Ratnam, for the critically acclaimed Tamil film Kannathil Muthamittal. His rise to popularity began when he was tapped for a film role as "Munna" in the hit film Boys directed by S. Shankar. Next came a role in another Mani Ratnam film, the Tamil feature Aayitha Ezhuthu (Tamil version of Yuva). siddhart is the name of lord buddha in his childhood. he was born in lumbini which is now in nepal. he got his knowledge at gaya in the shade of mahabodhi tree. he started a religion known as buddhism which now spread all over the world there is lots of book on him. if you want to know more you should visit gaya which is in bihar
