Our local Wal-mart told us last week that they were going to stop taking lay-aways. Said they were losing money on it. They also said it was not just local, that it was going to be nation-wide? Has anyone else heard this? How true is it?

They always discontinue lay-aways before the Christmas rush since they need to room in the back for product. Maybe that's what they meant.

The ghetto Walmart we have here in my town most definitely would have made a mention of it. A very large amount of layaway business is done there.
