For example, the anti-speeding ads in here in Britain... "if you hit me at 30mph, theres an 80% chance I'll live"... yes, but if you were going at 40mph, you'd have been past her before she even ran out into the road!!!

I'm not necessarily ADVOCATING speeding, I just hate that OUR MONEY is being squandered trying to brainwash us!

one of a long lists of things this wasteful government fritters our money on. yes we know speed kills showing a condescending advert does F#ck all to make drivers think about speed cos by the time you've got in the car you've forgot the advert and are only interested in were you are going and looking out for the speed cameras anyway you will probably hit someone by looking for the cameras Rather than paying attention to the speed you are doing

No. I think they are justified to remind the not so experienced drivers what can happen to the increase in breaking distance when only 'a few' miles per hour over the limit. Recently a copper was caught 'testing' his unmarked police-car on a motorway at 159mph. It would have taken him half a mile to come to a complete stop. That stopping distance surprised me on such an obviously high powered car with supposedly 'good' breaks!

The next time you go to a football match or concert take a look around you and think, more people are killed every year in RTA's than are in this stadium.

And your point about being 'past her' is nonsense. If you were going 'a few' miles per hour slower then your chances of not hitting her are even greater than that of going faster. Sorry to disprove your theory that speeding is best.

PS - the copper got away with it believe it or not!

If you hit a child at 40 mph and kill them, how will you feel?

I'm sure most of us admit to driving too fast, but then who pays the price for that?

Hate to say it but I quite like them! They amuse me as they are so graphic and often amusing by default - really used to like the ones of kids climbing up electrical pylons to get their kites ...
Propaganda - well yes but then again if they come from the government then natch of course they are propaganda...sit back and enjoy
