* * * YES YOU CAN * * * DO IT ALL THE TIME * * *

Look in any office supply store in the paper and label section
Should find "T-shirt transfer paper" It is about $1.50 a sheet. Avery makes a good one.
You print your picture on the special paper
(Remember you have to flip the picture so that it is a "mirror image" of the way you want it to look on the t-shirt)
Once printed, you put the paper, image down, on the t-shirt and iron over it (the sheet will have instructions for how long, etc.)
Let it cool for a couple minutes and then pull the paper off
The image is left on the T-shirt
You are limited to 8 1/2 x 11 as the largest image you can do
The results are decent (not quite professional, but if it is a special picture, that matters more than quality)
Have several shirts that are two to three years old and the pictures hold up well

Would not recommend for a large project, because between the cost of the paper and the ink, it cost about $4-5 a shirt to print. plus the cost of the shirt itself. Plus takes about 20-20 minutes a shirt to make. If you are looking to do more then 5-10 shirts, check the yellow pages for a "screen printer" in your area. Cost will be able the same, and the job will be faster and more professional looking. But for one or two special shirts (a picture of your sweetheart, your baby, etc.) it is really nice.

I wouldn't recommend it at all. There's a huge chance of jamming the printer or ruining the printer heads. Do a google search on T-shirt making and you'll find some leads. I believe they do have a special printer for fabrics and stuff. Like they do for threading Hats.

No. You must use transfer paper, but if it is done correctly, the design/letters will last forever (or until you toss the shirt). Iron on transfers last the life of the material its ironed to. The color will not bleed, either. Make sure the iron is set at high, there is absolutely no water/vapors in the iron, and follow the ironing instructions. Mine last as long as I own my shirts, and the color never fades either. The trick is to make sure it's ironed evenly, and the iron's hot enough to seal the entire transfer to the material. Cut off any extra, unneeded paper around the transfer.

As far as I'm concerned, no you cannot. You need to buy special iron-on sheets at Target or Staples and then print your design on the sheet. Then you need to iron the sheet on to your shirt. The iron-on sheets are about 25 dollars.

I don't think so, but you can print an iron on and then iron the print onto your shirt.
