go to crawford market and behind crawford market towards VT station the buses depart from there...
All kinds of A/c non a/c buses ...
They depart in the morning hours and you can buy tickets on the spot too ...
Also you can insist on seeing the bus first before buying the ticket

Check out Raj National Express or the Redbus service that books bus tickets on the net from bangalore

any neighbourhood travel operator would book you a ticket. basically the system works as follows
a) there are a number of bus operating companies like neeta travels, srinath travels etc, who run different kinds of buses at different times (AC/Non AC/Volvo/Sleeper... with Volvo being comfortable)
c) the neighbourhood travel operators act as ticketing agents, and book a ticket with the bus operating company when they receive money.
d) the buses pick passengers from few major locations in mumbai- dadar, sion circle, vashi, belapur CBD being some
e) the passenger specifies his point of boarding at the time of booking and is usually told a time at which he should reach the point of pickup (this time is usually 1/2 hour earlier than the actual time of arrival of the bus)
f) passenger shows the receipt and boards the bus

you can also take a route going through GOA, UDUPI,Manglore and banglore. You can travel by Paulo Travels.
