There's another film in production. J.J. Abrams (Alias, Lost, Mission Impossible III) is set to direct it.
It's apparently going to be some sort of prequel... that's the word they're using, although a prequel to what part of Star Trek exactly I'm not sure.
There was a news article the other day about Shatner and Nimoy being approached to reprise their roles as Kirk and Spock in the film.
See the attached IMDB link.

I don't think there would be another series of Star Trek, since the last series, Star Trek: Enterprise ended and was cancelled two years ago. As for movies, yes. Probably not. The 40th anniversary is this week and celebrated on Sci Fi. This link has Star Trek info.

There's a movie in the works right now. They just unveiled a poster for it. Retro Trek badge with gold and blue. No word on who or what it is about.

I hope it hasn't. Even if there is never another series, I can imagine more films being made, even though Generations said they wouldn't.
I was sad when TNG was still airing, I tried writing my own series called ST:Nemesis, and was gutted years later when the film came out of the same name!

A new movie is supposed to be in the works and rumour has it (doesn't it always?) that both William 'insert long pause here' Shatner and Leonard Nimoy are in talks/have been approached. I admit to not reading the full story but the headline was on Empire's website

There is supposedly a new movie in the works that picks up just prior to the Enterprise's first five year mission. Kirk, Spock, Uhura, Scotty, McCoy....and the rest of our favorite crew return (played by new actors).....in this prequel. Things may change...

I hope not. I would at least like to see some movies if they never
do another TV series.
