It is very likely that PCOS will cause fertility problems, but some women are able to get pregnant naturally even if they have it. That should not be a reason to rule out PCOS. However, the symptoms can mimic other conditions, like hypothyroidism. PCOS is typically diagnosed after other conditions are ruled out and if symptoms and hormone levels are indicative of the syndrome. In my own experience, symptoms can get worse over time (it took me 10 years to get a diagnosis; before that, doctors wouldn't take me seriously). In my opinion, she has some pretty typical symptoms of PCOS and insulin resistance (the two are often connected). If she thinks she has PCOS, I would advise her to see a different doctor who will take her concerns seriously. Some doctors really don't know much about it at all--the first one I saw told me I didn't need to worry about it! Better to find a doctor who knows about PCOS and will test for it.

Always seek a second opinion.

Have her check out a health food store, and they may have nautural remedies to help with the symptoms etc.

A progesterone cream may help her out. Maybe try drinking organic milk.

doesnt sound like pcos to me..sounds like somthng wrong with her pituitary gland and hormones
I dont think it is thyroid
has she lost an extreme amount of weight lately?
Hey...suggest this to her doctor..please remember (if they cant figure it out) ...is she taking steroids?? Also ask if it could possibly be that her estrogen and progesterone levels have dropped, and instead her body is now putting out testosterone...
This sounds weird, but just ask ok...you never know.
Good luck, and please, keep us posted.
