At present i live in town, surrounded by chavs and ASBO wannabes, well isnt every town like that these days? I am seriously thinking about relocating looking for a better environment for my 6 year old son, are peoples mentalities different in the countryside or are they just as bad as townies?

The country is a much better place. I havent had kids yet but from what I have experienced, town has more drugs and stereotypes. The country is easy-going and down to earth.

I grew up in the country, it was great, we had a huge area to play, and didnt get in trouble with other kids, because there were none.

But there arent any other kids, so it was pretty boring, you need to have 3 or 4 kids to live in the country.

I live in the country. Moved from town and would never think of moving back.

it depends...will the conrty or town raise your child or will you? Its all about parenting..not location. Sure citys have gangs, drugs, pure pressure....but contry has raceist meth hill billys...its all the same..YOU RAISE YOUR KIDS and youll be OK. Move to The city...more future oppertunity and diversity. take it from a west coast california proud resident.

I think it's better if you move to the country. However, it may be difficult to your son to fit in a town, if he decides to move back to the town.

if you look for trouble you will find it.
If you look for pleasant things you will find them instead.

IMO the country is a much better place to raise kids, however it does have its drawbacks.
