The Batman/Judge Dredd crossover story was ok, even if you are just curious how these two would interact (sort of like Daredevil vs Punisher).. it has eye-catching airbrush style by simon bisley. Batman enters Dredd's dimension while trying to chase Judge Death, a villain who inhabits dead bodies. We see an interesting confrontation between Batman and the Law in this alternate reality. Scarecrow is also included and he plays a rather nasty trick on Death..

The only other issue I remember was about this vicious T. Rex called Satanis. It was one of the first few comics i've ever read, and had plenty of blood and dino guts.

Undoubtedly the best story was the Apocalypse War which ran from issues (or progs) - 245-270. It was the tale of East Meg city 1 attacking the Mega cities after the Block War saga which preceded this. It's told from the perspective of Dredd and the very attractive(OMG yes I found a comic book character attractive, I was 13 though!) Judge Anderson of PSI division fame. It's available in paperback from your favourite on line seller, by John Wagner.

Other faves of mine include the graffiti/surfer story Chopper and the Cursed Earth.

The Dead Man (Dredd having gone on the long walk gets nearly killed by the sisters of death), the way it played out was brilliant. Love the bit how, if you remember from a previous story, City of the Dammned which showed McGruder as cheif judge, she eventually came back, Nice bit of continuity.

the best dredd story line had to be the Batman crossover, where bats and dredd go one on one, dredd and scarecrow have a tussle and then batman and judge death have a funky fisty cuffs too.
Best bit, scarecrow poisons death with the scare mist and death cacks himself from see far to many pink fluffy bunnies. wicked read a must have for all dredd fans.

There was one of the early ones in 2000AD where Dredd's rogue clone brother Rico comes back after 20 years on Titan looking for revenge on Dredd who reported him.

Dredd, eventually, wins and shoots him but badly wounded, he insists on carrying Rico's body saying 'He's not heavy, he's my brother!' and it's the only time I remember Joe Dredd crying.

The original Judge Death and the Dark Judges series, the Angel Gang and the Judge Child series, the Judge Cal series... they are some of the best. (I always wanted to see a team-up/ romance between Judge Anderson and Strontium Dog...! I think they'd be hot together!)

I always liked the stories with the fat people rebelling, they had beli-wheels to haul their guts round with. For stories written 20 years ago, they're pretty spot on at future trends!
Also, stories with the Fink brothers were great.

Judge Death was cool. Anything with Boing(tm) in, Chopper actually got away in the end, which was good, Jigsaw Disease was really odd too.
