The seals are listed for around 4 bucks apiece. Alldata lists 12.7 labor hours for replacement. At $45-75 per hour, labor is gonna be high!
The heads have to be removed fore that job. It would be nearly impossible to do that job in frame.

Scary times ahead! What did you do to this durable little engine to make it smoke? Sludge in the valve cover can block the crankcase vents making the engine use oil. Check your Toyota Dealer for service bulletins? Your Car Might get a new engine if you changed oil every 10,000 miles. Not kidding! How many miles do you have? Anything over 120,000 I would take the engine out and rebuild it if Toyota does not give you a new one.

thats valve stem seals and to replace all on the engine depends on where you go to get them replaced. a dealer will charge top prices but the old shade tree mechanic can do you a better deal.about 200 to 250 bucks these days.

Best to replace them all. Don't let them just do 1 or 2 you will regret it in the end. It shouldn't be no more than $200.00 unless you go to the dealership. Buy your own parts take it to some one you can trust.

This isn't that old of a vehicle. How many miles on it and who made this diagnosis?
I'm guessing right around two hundred.
