It will raise the boiling point, but one would need much more than the amount usually used in cooking to have any noticable effect.

Let's see - salt lowers the freezing point of water.
Salt has a higher boiling point than water - so water will boil at a higher temperature depending on how much salt is present in the water.

any impurities cause an elevation of the boiling point of water
so salt does make water boil at higher temperature

No, boiling point is 212 degress F.
But I do think it helps it get there faster.
