Sanctions in a criminal case when the DA is at fault would include excluding the evidence produced by the discovery violations, or findings of contempt by the judge. It would have to be pretty gross (big) violations to have the case thrown out.
If the discovery violations screw up the trial date, the judge can determine to "charge the time to the People", which means the wasted time will go against the amount the DA has to prosecute the case. That Could result in a dismissal.

That depends on what the violations that the DA made were. In the case of a speedy trial date, any time delays would be against the DA.

Sanctions are penalties imposed by the court for misconduct by an attorney.

While very severe violations could result in a case being dismissed courts will very rarely do that. Mostly it's just a verbal reprimand.

Your attorney can explain exactly what your legal rights are in each case.
