But I for one am getting a little tired of the constant questons about his demise. Can someone tell me what is so all fired important about the man and how he died?

i will never forget the image of steve irwin talking to the camera while sharks were in a feeding frenzy all around him while he stood in the water...the guy was a crazy kook but he was fascinating, funny and very entertaining...i kind of felt one day his luck would run out the way he took risks dealing with wildlife but i would never have guessed it would take a stingray to be the culprit....my condolences to his friends and family....he was one of a kind and his legacy will continue as his shows run on animal planet

The reason people are so intrigued with this is not only because he was such a great man but because of the very rare manner in which he died. There has never been a documented case of a sting-ray causing death to a human. The tail actually penetrated his chest and on into the heart, that is unheard of and virtually impossible. That is why the manner of his death is such a big topic. You should try and respect the man and chillax.

He was an icon in Australia, and an idol in America. He will be greatly missed. I feel sad for his wife and children.
It's always a big deal when someone famous dies, especially one who was so well loved.

my daughter, when she was 2& up was fasinated with his show-as i. yeah all the stuff you`ve heard is true,his outstanding legacy. for my daughter,however she has a love for animals & resept for nature she would`nt have if not for his show.he was a celebrity that was such a good person,unlike the role models hollywood has generated.he was a REAL person, as well as preformer.he was a bright shining star, we will miss him.
