when he pulled it out he could have sped up his internal bleeding and cutting his time short. this time could have been useful to medical personal. could it have made a difference between live and death. i mean really he went from a small leak to a gush. his manager said that the video showed him pulling the spine out and a minute later he was gone. The only logical reason would have been to limit exposure to toxins. but you need blood first. who let him do that,

To Doc to be.--Do U really think that he had time to think about that, or that he even knew in that split second it had pierced his heart???

Once he was spined in the heart it was all over whether he pulled it out or not. Steve knew what he was doing, If the spine stayed there all the way to the hospital he would have died a very slow agonizing death because of the poison. If he overcame the hole in his heart and the poison directly injected into his heart, he still would have died a slow and agonizing death because the infection from any fish wound is very intense anywhere on the body; but directly to the heart? Again there was no stopping the inevitable and Steve most likely knew that and chose to make it easy on himself and his family.

I think it was basic human reaction,we all probably would have done the same thing. When faced with a crisis we don't take the time to think what is the best solution.I'm sure it all happened in a matter of seconds.Look at Jackie O,when JFK was shot she climbed on the back of the car to get his scalp.Just her reaction to the dire crisis she just experieneced.

Tthe stingray would've swam away anyway and pulled the barb from him. Also, it would'nt have made a difference because the barb pierced his heart.
