As this is believed to be impossible, there would be a scientific uproar.
Badgers do not like foxes, if they move into a badgers sett, the badgers move out. They have very different habits and practices, so even if it was physically possible for them to mate they wouldn't.
However, they cannot, because they are different species.
It might be possible to do some genetic manipulation that could mingle the genetic material of the two animals, but it is hard to see why anyone would want to. They are both wild animals with little or no commercial value. They are both quite difficult to keep in captivity. So don't expect it to happen
If it did the papers would be full of pictures of the cute little cubs.

Species ,unless closely related like the horse and donkey for instance, cannot fertilise each other as the sperm of a foreign species would be attacked by the animals immune system. In addition when fertilisation occurs two"halves" of the genetic make up of an individual combine, if these are of different species they are incompatible and cannot give information to produce new cells correctly, this would cause the egg to be rejected. In closely related species although they form individuals the hybrids produced are usually infertile, eg. an ***

This isn't another 'God' question is it?

I don't know what would happen, you have many suggestions for names here already. Personally I think it would lead to rows and eventually the Badger would leave, hit the bottle and be a bad father.

They are two different species and the definition of a species is that it is so genetically different that another species can't mate with it. So they couldn't have babies together but they do have them with members of their own species
