As you know, counselor's are not there to solve a person's problem for only that person can do so. Because you have been making such wonderful progress, I would recommend you ask her for a recommendation to another counselor. She will have a clear understanding of what you are in need of and quite possibly the ideal "Substitute" for her in her absence.
Once she is better, you can always go back to her if that is what you desire.
Good Luck...

I think you need to find another now but keep in touch with the lady who is sick.It might actually help you to get a slightly different perspective for your course from speaking to someone new.
I hope you can in some way help your existing counsellor by keeping in touch and encouraging her along the road to recovery and at the same time not fall behind with your own studies !
Take care.

Do both.
As a professional they'll know you need access to good daily counselling - but keep in touch with them as well - the last thing someopne in that position needs is to feel that someone they've worked closely with is just walking away when the chips are down ....

Find another, the progress you've made is within yourself. Don't become dependant on others, these counsellors should be training you to have the ability to help yourself.

Speak to her about it .. explain your situation and if she is a good teacher she will understand and may even help you to find someone to fill in until she is better. It is sad that she is not well but you cannot allow that to interfere with your studies.

What do you loose if you wait for your counselor?
Go talk to your college about the situation, and only change counselors if your college tells you that you must.

You can support her and let her know that you're there for her.. and since you need that for school I suggest that you find another counselor to help you with school...

Ask her for her opinion. I'm sure she won't want to disappoint you. Don't leave her without telling her of your plans though. Best wishes.
