For singles to hangout and can go on her own? I don't have friends in London and sometimes want to go out but not confident to go to nice trendy bar alone.

Thank to those who's suggested the Intrepid Fox bar but its a gothic place and I'm into that kind of scene. But thanks anyway.

central london is great for bars, just try to find one you're comfortable with.. if you're not that confident, try to find one where you won't feel too out of place reading a book or a newspaper.. ie one that isn't too busy.... also its not a bad ice breaker for conversation when getting a drink at the bar.. just chat to the person next to you about how crap the evening standard is, or something along those lines... avoid the tourist places, and keep clear of the city.. just find somewhere nice that you like... er.. i'd recommend gordon's wine bar in embankment as a great place for a glass of wine, and aside from that, any of the australian/south african bars like walkabout etc... you'll find loads of really friendly people...

loads of bars also have singles nights... its worth looking through time out and seeing what on... there's usually a few on everynight of the week...

lastly, sign yourself up for an evening course in anything you're interested in.. photography, cooking, art...etc.. most courses finish around 9pm and you'll find quite a few people will be up for going to the pub afterwards.. plus you'll have something in common as well with them to talk about.. and usually there will be quite a diverse section of people... most colleges have a decent list and they don't cost much to attend and courses are starting now!

I agree i think the Intrepid Fox is a great place to go everyone is super relaxed there.

While on the subject though please sign the petition to stop it from closing

It is one of my favourite bars and has been around for a long time, it would be awful to see it close.

therein lies the problem.. 'nice trendy' bar are full of nice trendy tossers... my advice would be to go to the Intrepid Fox on Wardour Street W1.. top pub.. and you'll never get hit on my tossers

Try this.
I went to a similar event in Leeds and had a fantastic time. No pressure to find a 'mate', everyone is there for exactly the same reason, you've had to relocate and start again.

It's like the first day of school all over again!!

Good luck and have fun. x x x

Walk outside and look down the street. You'll find a bar AND someone to go with.
