I've found that one place to go to is a Spiritualist Church and find a medium from there who will do private readings. It also seems interesting but true that the good ones are often the ones who don't charge much money. Also it seems that different mediums connect well with different people, one can be really good for you but not for someone else.
Don't worry about the word Church, it's open to any religion or none and is just a meeting place to get to know the way of things.

I was once told that there is a very good one who works in the Green Park area in Bath. I can't remember what she is called but if you ask around at the Green Park area I'm sure people know her there.

try your local spiritualist church,they normally have regular mediums that you can make an appointment with. that's where i went when i wanted to see a medium.
