Besides Spybot Search & Destory and Ad-Aware (get it free at download.com), Hijackthis is a very good and powerful program which is small in size. You don't have to install on your computer and best of all, it's free. After scanning, go to www.hijackthis.de and upload your scanned report: hijackthis.log.
Another good website where you can download a free ebook is www.tweakguides.com Loads of useful and wonderful fixes.

I also use pc cillin full edition on my computer is really great . But the first guy who answered you gaved the website . I would highly reocmend as well

google for spybot search and destroy, totally wicked and free and removes virtually all probs or/and look up sygate personal security another freebie but is one of the best firewalls about!! Hope this helps
