36 years ago, in the early days of our romance, I recorded favourites for my dear wife from the radio onto cassette tapes which we played when apart. She died from cancer last year, aged only 52, and I now am sitting here alone, weeping as I listen to a cassette with this song. Unfortunately, the recording was of very poor quality and only of the last 45 seconds. I would really appreciate if some Samaritan could supply the full lyric or, even better, a decent MP3 copy of this haunting song. Thank you so much.

Well, it wasn't easy- but I found the lyrics for you!!! Her name is spelt Maggie McNeal! She is a dutch artist. The song is from 1976
I can't copy and paste the lyrics of the site, so you'll have to go there yourself.
I'm very sorry for your loss.I hope this will bring back some happy memories to give you the strength to get through this difficult time.

I also found this site, where you can buy a copy of her CD: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=6745870&style=music&cart=389752876&BAB=M

Well, you might have more luck tracking it down yourself. Go to a music store that sells old and new songs, and ask them if they can order it for you, or still yet, download it. If you do not have the proper burner to do that, then get someone you know to do it for you. Most kids these days have that capability plus adults. I have downloaded over 60 CD's and I am 60+ yrs old. Good luck. I am very sorry for you loss, I am a cancer survivor, it was not my time, but rest assured, it was her time to go. God took her home. I lost my Mother just 2 yrs ago, so I know the pain of losing someone dear.
God Bless you. I am very fortunate that I still have my husband.
