I don't think Vaseline will help with any dark patches. Try putting Vitamin E oil on your lips every night, and lightly exfoliate your lips.

Also, make sure that you wash your face after brushing your teeth, and not before. This will get rid of any toothpaste residue on your lips, since toothpaste is very drying.

Another thing, make sure that it's not one of your lipsticks or lipglosses causing this. Some brands can really dry your lips and some lipgloss types (in my case the wand applicator types) leave my lips really, really dry.

our lips get dried and later there will be some patches, colour of the lip may turn black ,to solve this let the lips be wet ,we should drink enough water, and eat more fruits, dont allow the lips to be dried.so that you can take care of your lips.

It's due to lack of moisture in your lips. Drink loads of water and use a lip gel or balm, preferably, vaseline.
