i am a women of 42 years old who is suffering badly from hot flushes and bad sweats which happens during the day

i hear ya...i'm going thru it too at 44
i don't get the hot flashes though or at least not yet.
i did some reading up on it though and a lot of women swear by a herbal supplement called...black cohosh...you can get it at wal-mart or any drug store...it's supposed to ease the hot flashes and all the rest

in the drug store you usually find the homepathic area.Their are companies that due produce a blend usually conatining chaste berry to help balance hormones that reduce hot flashes.BEsides chaste berry red clover is also known to help reduce
Sorry just remeber the blend to look for in the drug stores or homepathic stores go under the Term HRT.Hormone replacment thereapy !
besides these hrt thereapy try to avoid
Stress
Caffeine
Alcohol
Spicy foods
Tight clothing
Heat
Cigarette smoke
they are known to trigger Hot flashes .

Other things you can do to keep hot flashes at bay include
Keep your bedroom cool at night. Use fans during the day. Wear light layers of clothes with natural fibers such as cotton.
Try deep, slow abdominal breathing (6 to 8 breaths per minute). Practice deep breathing for 15 minutes in the morning, 15 minutes in the evening and at the onset of hot flashes.
Exercise daily. Walking, swimming, dancing and bicycling are all good choices.
Chill pillows; cooler pillows to lay head on at night might be helpful.
milder approach then HRT is start off using
Vitamin B complex
Vitamin E
Ibuprofen

Have plenty of fruits, green veg and fibre rich food. Take lot of water. Avoid oily stuff and meat items. Perhaps, try not to get too tensed.

No caffeine! Water only! Control blood pressure. Eat only fruits & vegtables.
