Since so many seem to know better than Bush, what is your idea. Like libturd leadership whos plan is...well nothing except to criticize Bush. Like that makes anyone safer. Im so sick of hearing Turbin, dirty harry and Shoomaker( thats Durbin , reid Schumer) complain and say they know better yet never say what they propose. I think most Americans have open mind son this issue. Ummm, I know I am not looking to get blown up on a bus anythime soon so I dont care who foils the terrorist plot. So since you liberals have a PLAN ( cough cough)..Im curious something more than Iraq was the wrong war and the wrong time...Thats not a plan

OK. Some random thoughts, at 3am...

Withdraw ground forces from Iraq, rotating out as each unit finishes it's tour of deployment. Why? It's not doing us any good, and there are better ways to deal with Iraq. (first link for details).

Take 50,000 troops (1/3 of Iraq force) and deploy them on the US southern border. That's roughly one squad per 1/4 mile. Deals with the immigration problem, and it's great desert training for them.

Take 50,000 troops and deploy them to Afghanistan. That almost triples the forces already there. Finish that front. And it keeps the units near Iran if necessary.

Increase overseas surveillance. That's already not limited by FISA.

If you want domestic warrantless wiretaps, chance the laws. Or deal with filling out the paperwork for FISA warrants. Either way. Just don't ignore the law because you don't like it. For details on FISA, see second link below.

Release the troops that are stop-lossed or held beyond their contract terms. They'll be happier, overall troop morale will improve, and recruitment will probably even increase if people know they can trust their enlistment contracts.

Use the military forces strategically and tactically, to raid and destroy terrorist training camps throughout northern Africa and other areas of the Middle East. Deploy units for surgical strikes, not peace keeping.

Stop all foreign aid grants. Let other countries fend for themselves. Take all that money and use it to augment the Coast Guard, Border Patrol and port security.

Those are some initial random thoughts. Talk to me when I'm awake and I can probably do better.

I would strengthen homeland security, and actually do what is suggested in the 9/11 commision report. (Almost nothing has changed) I would increase funding to our intellegence gathering systems as opposed to cutting there funding (like the current admistration has done). I would leverage KNOWN terrorist supporting nations as oppossed to one we only suspect. I wouldn't depend on millitary strength for that leverage. Siting the many countries that have tried to do the same thing and failed and the NONE that have worked. I would work to build allies in the region as oposed to alienating them. I would sink half the money spent on an occuping force and invest it in the occupied infrastructure and demography, giving the insurgency the choice of destroying an obviously better Iraq. Just to name a few. There are a few things I WOULDN'T have done but you didn't ask that.

In one of his audiotapes which was released on January 19th, 2005, Osama ben Laden had declared: "If you [Americans] are sincere in your desire for peace and security, we have answered you. And if Bush decides to carry on with his lies and oppression, then it would be useful for you to read the book 'Rogue State', which states in its introduction ... " He then goes on to quote the opening of a paragraph (which appears actually in the Foreword of the British edition only, that was later translated to Arabic), which in full reads:
"If I were the president, I could stop terrorist attacks against the United States in a few days. Permanently. I would first apologize -- very publicly and very sincerely -- to all the widows and the orphans, the impoverished and the tortured, and all the many millions of other victims of American imperialism.

I would then announce that America_s global interventions -- including the awful bombings -- have come to an end. And I would inform Israel that it is no longer the 51st state of the union but -oddly enough - a foreign country. I would then reduce the military budget by at least 90% and use the savings to pay reparations to the victims and repair the damage from the many American bombings and invasions. There would be more than enough money. Do you know what one year of the US military budget is equal to? One year. It's equal to more than $20,000 per hour for every hour since Jesus Christ was born.
"That's what I'd do on my first three days in the White House. On the fourth day, I'd be assassinated."

But come on, their plan would be so much better! (cough..cough) Their plan is much better than President Bush's. It would be downsizing our military and some cigars and of course fat, ugly interns. Oh wait, they already did that! Well, then of course they would have a back up plan that is better than the President's. So much better that it is top secret and they won't tell us unless we vote for them! In other words they don't have crap. They just want to be in charge.

First of all. Let me humble say that you are one of the most intersting people that I have ever had the privelege of answering. Two, let me upset you, and say that I consider myself more of a liberal person that would not jump the aisle on the Iraq issue.

that is on the IRAQ ISSUE.

Mind you, Iraq is not the only place in the world that has an extremist group. I would veel a HELL of a lot better if we CONTINUED our 'War on Terror;' in Korea, Pakistan, Egypt, or anyone else like that. Because I hate to sound like an asshole, but, a country that is in the middle of a civil war is no threat to me.

MOVING ON

Did you notice 3 staple that all you heard from these supposedly more intelligent liberals is the same old tired formula for Iraq that they always have. Cut and run. Did you also notice that not one had an original idea? I still think that the last original thinker in the Democratic party was T. Roosevelt. You remember him the President during WWII. The one who did not cut and run.

Continue the plan that has kept terrorists from attacking us on our soil since 9/11. We also need to make sure that Iran doesn't go nuclear, even if it means military intervention. Oh, you wanted to know the democrat's plan? Not sure what that is. They have a plan?

Bush is doing a fantastic job...Just because he isn't on camera blabbing about it and kissing the arses of terrorists on television,..doesn't mean he ain't doin the job...He has give freedom to two countries and captured almost all of the biggest terrorists connected to attacking this country and we have been safe since he has been in office...He has had to take the liberal spin and questioned about his actions since he has been in office..What I would do,..I ask Pat Buchanan ( yeah, the old redneck **** kicker) to run for Pres. and Bush as vice pres....run out all the illegals...tighten the borders really good...stop letting huge mosques be built here in the states...let the illegals stay if they want to go fight for this country..and many of them would..and give their families instant citizenship..if you are willing to fight for this country...then you can be a citizen....and then,...send in the hell's angels lol....Go bush GO lol...and liberals,..i expect your thumbs down..

- Rethink US foreign policy !
- At least make an attempt to give the illusion of being just !
- Show less contempt for the rest of the world !
- Do not support & fund & train terrorists groups, just because it is in your interest, today ! (Al-Qaeda, Saddam etc. )

Strengthening homeland security and bombing them to pieces, and carry-on as before is like living in **** pool, and plugging your ****, nose and mouth to make sure not much gets in !

All airline passengers must eat a piece of pork before being allowed to board. Since this is against Muslim law, this keeps 'em off the plane... not to mention vegetarians and vegans!
