Because women personalise everything and are self obsessed.
Whatever you do, do not call for a mans section, such action would play right into their hands by validating the notion of a womans section.
Let the sisterhood get on with it by rising above it. What they are proving, is that there is a difference between males and females, apart from the obvious, which serves to undermine the notion of equality (not in the moral sense), which always was a nonsense.

There is a separate section for women's studies because there actually exists a social study called women's studies, and it has more or less established it's place in the academic field. Men's studies however is relatively new field, and the boundaries and subjects of it are always under debate and constantly changing. There isn't many a university where you can study that one.
Oh, and just for everyones information, women's studies is actually something quite different than study of female anatomy and sexual preferences. I would recommend everyone to check for example wikipedia article (listed in sources) about what this is all about before posting utter BS as a question; but I would also wish for world peace and end of hunger in the world. Any ideas which of the three is most likely to happen?

I hate to admit it, but most of the times men are considered too predictable. Women on the other had are one of the greatest mysteries in the Universe. You could spend 5 years living with one and still find something new in the last day. So the people who made this section were probably thinking the same thing.

This is not a bad idea to introduce such a section in Yahoo Answers. However, there already ARE Masculinity Studies at some bigger universities. Try this, for example:

I agree. I find it patronising that there is a special section for "Womens Studies", like we are too boring or weird or mysterious for the mainstream, and have to be ghettoised.
I think there would be uproar if there was a special section for "White People" for example.

because discrimination is fine as long as its not against a dominant group.... or is it that the dominant group pretends to be weak and uses the discrimination card to get their way... either way it's because men will post answers anywhere, women need a special corner to be safe from men, which is rather silly as where women are men will follow like weak pathetic puppies in a bag.

Have you ever wondered why there are "women's sections" in newspapers? I wonder if women who buy newspapers ignore the headlines and jump straight to the womens section for the beauty tips and childcare advice...it's a rather out moded idea in the current age.

I think the idea is that most of history/sociology/etc. has been 'men's studies' up to this point.
