It's a propaganda film from the homo sexual community to try and make the heterosexual conservative community look like a bunch of heartless bastards, It stars Tom Hanks ( a lovable well known actor) who is a homo sexual working as a professional, and loses his job when he comes down with aids and can't use his benefits because he loses those when he lost his job, and at the end he dies of this disease. The story is based on his trials and tribulations of this and tries to make you sympathize with all of those effected by this desease although it can be prevented by simply changing from this perverse lifestyle. Sorry but that's my take on it. If it seemed a bit lopsided, that's for balance since the movie was lopsided in the opposite direction.

Andrew Beckett wins the case against his former employer, then dies from AIDS. The film ends at his wake, where we see most of the people we have met in the film having a nice time celebrating Andrew's life. Finally the camera locks in on a TV, where we see home movies of Andrew as a little boy, and on the soundtrack we hear some heartbreaking music.

They are all at a memorial, the law suit was won, Denzel was at the memorial, at the very end they show some video clips of the character that Tom Hanks played as he was growing up, and of course the song was playing in the background. Good movie!

Tom Hank's character did die before the trial ended, but Denzel's character managed to win the case. They did conspire to fire the the character because he had AIDS.
I also like the answer that reminded me about them showing what looked like home moves of his character growing up- very touching.
