And Nigerians are lovely people. In the past few years EFCC has consistently waged war against froud stars in the country. this was enabled by the goveranment of President Olusegun Obasango. i mean the guy is fighting crime like crazy. ye, he is...

The EFCC is waging a war, an anti-corruption war. It spans the activities of fraudsters (419), Internet and eBusiness scams (yahoo boiz) and even corrupt public servants such as Governors (Alamesiagha), Corrupt security officials (Tafa Balogun) and even Senators.

However, the anti-corruption war alone is not enough to influence public and international opinion. Our ministries such as Ministry of Communication and National Orientation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Finance also play key roles in influencing international opinion about Nigeria. This is because they interface directly with the International community and Nigeria is measured against their actions and policies.

However, I think the most influential factor in determining international opinion is the Nigerian people. If we conduct ourselves with integrity and uprightness then we present a good image of Nigeria.

PS. The dude Alfonso that asks whether all eggs are not bad should be aware that war isn't what determines moral uprightness. Its a person's actions and conduct during war that determine a true bad egg. However, Nigeria hasn't been caught up in a war since the Civil war in 1967

EFCC has done alot in the past three years to ride Nigeria of bad and evil elements. The level of corruption and fraud rose to the highest during the days of Generals Ibrahim Babagida and Sani Abacha. It was seen then as a way of life. Infact, you were not a force to be recon with if you were not currupt or fraudulent. A war as difficult as the one EFCC is fighting now cannot be won in 10 years. So far the Commission has done very well

I think that most people do believe the media over a person, but like so many arabs you will have to learn to adjust to the fact that people will look at where you came from before they look at you the person. I'm sure you have been guilty of it before, the country of origin is always what makes the first impression to strangers. I know there are great Nigerians, I work with several of them at work, but as a person it's easier to accept the fact that you will be stereotyped first that way you will be prepared and save yourself from being upset. Look at what people think about Americans? They are considered rude, ignorant, and all fat. That isn't true, but most people think that about Americans. It sucks I know that people will judge who you are because of a couple "bad eggs" but it will change once people get to know you. Then you can enlighten more people to who the "good eggs" are! Good Luck, Keep your head up high.
