Have been with the RAC now for a few years and receive discount on renewal for no call outs.

Had to call them out this year for the first time and was impressed with the speed and expertise of the service.

Would highly recommend the RAC.

Was with a friend once on the M25 and we broke down. He was with the AA and called them for assistance. We waited for more than an hour before they arrived and they were unable to repair at road-side, and as the car was an automatic they said they could not tow it very far. We were then towed off the motorway and left in a lay-by to await a recovery truck. As it was well past mid-night and the lay-by had no lighting it was a bit scary for the kids, to say the least. We waited again for some 45 mins in this unlit lay-by awaiting the recovery truck.I wonder to this day what dangers could have befallen us in this lay-by, as certainly we could not be seen by any passing vehicles. Also wondered if this action would have been the same had it been a lone female.

Normal Journey time 2 1/2 - 3 Hrs
The RAC - Having been a lone female stranded on a notorious motorway at night - the RAC kept constant contact with me from the moment I rang them to the moment a patrol man arrived within 15 minutes and got me home within 3hrs 30mins - problem CV Joint
RAC Time - An extra hour on journey

Normal Journey Time 3 - 3 1/2 hours
My experience of the AA is not so good - Problem - Split Exhaust at engine end - 3 of us were waiting for 3 hours before we were collected and towed to a nearby garage and left another 2 hrs before the same guy collected us and drove us for another 2 hrs to an AA centre where we waited another 2 1/2 hrs before heading home 3 hours cos the guy got lost.
AA Time - An extra 7 hrs on journey

I used to have a bike insurance policy with RAC recovery. The insurance company dumped the RAC because they were unreliable. My brother waited for hours for the RAC, so long that he eventually fixed the problem by the time they arrived. But, watch out for the cheaper companies as they employ agents who can't be bothered a lot of the time!

I must have been with them all, I found them all about the same for speed of service. AA and RAC are the most expensive !
I am now with 'Autonational Rescue' the cheapest, been with them quite a few years and cant fault them!
Just type it into your search engine!
Plus discount for not calling them out!
No I dont have shares with the company, I'm just tight fisted!
Almost all these services call on local agents if you break down so not a lot of difference, good luck! Save yourself a few quid.

RAC, leave AA well alone, had more than 1 bad experiences with the AA, had no probs with RAC.

AA always found a loophole in my membership which required me to pay over £100 on both occassions when i needed them. rip off im afraid.
