Hello everyone. I am stuck with a dilemma right now and have been trying to solve this for over 10 years. But I remember watching a movie in the 80s or early 90s. It was a suspense/romantic sort of movie. The main story is about a guy (who had died from racing a gang I believe) and comes back to race the guys who had killed him. He drives a total BLACK car and challenges these guys. He then starts racing then speeds away very fast and parks the car accross the road after a curve. All his racers never see him and hit him (dying). But after going away he never leaves his fully tinted black car (for obvious reasons). In the whole plot of the movie he was with this girl and they loved each other. Again, I watched this movie as a child over 10 years ago and was never able to rewatch it again, now I would like to. Thanks for your help.

The movie was with Charlie Sheen - he drove an "Interceptor".
The name of the movies is... The Wraith
I have had one of those movies that I have been chasing for a decade - they are usually not as good as we remember. I think it has more to do with where we were at during those times in our lives.

It's The Wraith alright, and it should be noted that it was directed by Nick Cassavettes, son of the great director and actor John (Franco from The Dirty Dozen).
However, the Sheen character didn't die from racing those guys. He was killed by their leader (played by director Nick Cassavettes), and the Sheen character comes back to take revenge before moving on to heaven, basically.
The movie where a guy comes back after having died in a race is called The Heavenly Kid, and it starred Lewis Smith as Bobby and Jason Gedrick (Iron Eagle) as Lenny. Jane Kascmereck is also featured.

There is another movie with this plot, the wraith is more science fiction where the driver returns as a mystical presence. There is another movie like this where the driver dies and comes back to the future I think it was originally set in the 50's. Hopefully, The wraith is what you were looking for but when I originally read your question I thought of this movie. Good Luck
