Why do people ask questions only to pick out the 'best' answers which just rephrase their damned opinions?
As a new member in yahoo answers I have been shocked by the level of ignorance displayed here . People are atheists for silly reasons, beleivers in god for god knows what stupid causes; some are are pro creationalists while other are pro darwinism without knowing either what is creation or darwinism actually is,
that when I try to disabuse them of their idiotic notions, some other idiot who agrees with their diabolical ideas gets his answer chosen as the best !!!!
To be honest i honestly think apes do actually use the internet.
so please tell me what damned purpose is there in asking such damned questions
OH SORRY, DID SOMEONE ALREADY SAY THAT????

I agree and would like to point out the give and take, or ping
pong effect that is going on. Say you have a pre-arranged
question with a friend who is waiting for it to show on his
PC screen, waits for a few more stupid answers and then
votes for his friend‘s answer as being the best. Then they
reverse the order, the first answerer makes his stupid
question and his friend, the first asker, votes it as best
answer. Now do your Maths and see how many points
they have earned a day! This game is going on and I
think it is best for you to keep out of such arrangements
since Yahoo do not expect this to become a habit despite
their knowing of it. It is all about "honesty" and wise guys
do not know what this is all about. You are honest, otherwise
you would not be mentioning the problem, Congratulations
for bringing up the subject and thanks for your valuable
contribution - cheers Iain

They don't. I've gotten best answer in questions where I've been blatantly abusive to the asker. If I were to jump to a hasty conclusion maybe you're not very polite judging by how extraordinarilly judgemental you are after admitting you're a new member. It could be that you're not getting voted because you're too busy disabusing people and not offerring information that the asker appreciates. Or maybe it's all a conspiracy against you..

For the most part mankind asks questions in a effort to recieve validation. Sometimes I do it as well. For the most part I try to ask questions because I am interested in something. Even then I get odd answers which aren't answers but directives to do something entirely different. Most of us don't want to know what we have difficulty understanding or accepting though. Look at this forum as a reflection of the inner mind in ways because how can one be afraid to speak all kinds of insanity when you are potentially thousands of miles away from the reader?

Yahoo Answers is used by many (including me) as a place to let off steam and have fun along with asking sensible questions and giving sensible answers. That said I have on occasions given the 10 points to people I totally disagree with simply because I liked their answer the most.

Historically, the current opinion is not necessarily the correct answer e.g the flat earth theory, Galen and the blood circulation etc. However for the majority of issues e.g. is exercise good for you, the majority opinion tend to be corrrect. Where there is a split vote, that is where your own views will prevail. Accepting others views and weighing them for ourselves is the key to a healthy, happy life and interacting well with our humankind. (politically correct I hope)

Why are you asking a question again? Oh yes. Apes do use the internet. I think it is the University of Iowa that has an ape house. They even get pizza delivered. Woot! Apes are 1337

Some people actually get a kick out of having some non-sense questions to get answers very unexpectly. To see what kind of responses will be triggered off from all walks of life in the net.

I think a lot of people like to start arguments, for one thing...and yes, too many just want to make fun of opposing ideas (yes, narrow minded apes, true)...and also sadly, it's those very people that need their opinions, shallow and misinformed as they might be, reinforced...small minds group together...but they still can't measure up to a free thinker...nor do they even have the courage, or intelligence, to...

i agree with you too.. they want to think that there is a united front against or for what the question is. And if they are perticular 'odd' opinions they dont wish to think of themselves as 'odd' or an outsider with a radical opinion.
I have no source because it is my own view,
^_^ hope ive given u some insight into those annoying peoples minds.
