they should definately retake tests. a few months ago an elderly man hit a little girl who was in a pram on a crossing, she had already been in a horrible accident when a car slammed into her kinder. poor little thing. i'm sure most old people are fine but there are definately some out there who are a hazard on the road. i think over 65 year old people should retaked their test at certain intervals.

human beings at old age like 80 and above will at last get themselves a driving force or some thing so why care approximately re taking a try?? yet whilst they had to i might say at age seventy 5 because of the fact some start to lose their sight, lose concentration, and get distracted very actual that they might reason an accident!

They should go for WEEKLY tests. They're always looking for stuff to do anyhow. I am not "ageist" but each time someone's driving weird, I know they'll fall into one of three categories. Try it, it NEVER fails, man!
1. Currently talking on a cell phone, most likely
held up to ear, not using a headset.
2. Young hip hopper. Sit up and drive!!
3. Elderly driver. Bless your heart and go
sit in your Barkalounger, for Godsakes!

I think that they should have to take a test yearly once they turn 65. Some old folks just don't have what it takes to drive anymore.

i think so. just like we rules people can get a license except for beyond a certain age. with the age upping, the ability of driving will declining, its a undebatable thing. however, how to make the age is one of the most important thing.

the only tests i'd expect to be taken would be: 1) vision, 2) reflexes, 3) coordination, 4) and the occasional alcohol tests done on most roadside shoulder's, those are the ones I like to watch, come on people we shouldn't discriminate after all we're all going to get older.

Probably not, but with the lack of public transportation in many areas of the country, how can they get around? Think about how you could live without independent transportation.

It depends on their physical condition. Some people are ok to drive at 70, others are not ok to drive at 50...or less...
