My fav is DS9, I love the grittiness of it, whereare the others could be a bit frothy. TNG had the best characters tho, Picard my fav captain then Sisko but only when he shaved his head and grew a goatee.
Least favourite - Wesely Crusher! What a puff

The original is still my favorite, despite the fact that I have them memorized. There is an underlying difference in the writing between the first series and TNG. Every episode of Star Trek had a moral behind it. The 60's were very into the exploration of spiritual and social truths, and I think that is evident in the writing. (The episode of the last two survivors of a dead planet, chasing each other to kill, only because one was white on the left and black on the right, and the other was just the opposite is a good example.)
I also get into TNG, but not so much the others. The other day, Worf came through a tear in the quantum something or other, and there were 2018 Enterprises hailing the one in Worf's universe. One of them hailed, and it was Riker, all torn to hell, and insisting they couldn't go back because the Borg had taken over. It was great. I have a question. How much does it pay to come up with all of those technical terms?

I really think that nothing beats the original series despite of the overall simplistic character of the show in terms of production tecniques, special fx and other shortcomings.. if you pay attention, you will realize that numerous episodes in the following series, (TNG, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise) are really offsprings of original episodes, or variations of original storylines.. also I think that at times the producers in all of the sequel series are way to prone for politically correct statements, and do not explore other promising possibilitiesin their writting..for instance in DS9 the emissary concept and the wormhole concept is really only occasionaly explored, while great many of episodes are dedicated to casting and recasting stories around the Klingons.. I think the Voyager had the most potential of all the sequels. Enterpise could have done better, yet seasons 3 and 4 were very interesting, it's a pity it got discontinued
favorite episodes "Where no man has gone before" and "Corbomite manoever" from original.. also "Meridian" from DS9 season 3, and 'shore leave' from Enterprise season 1.. I like Odo too, but I think Picard is really overrated.. just a malicious looking actor elevated into semi godhood status by hollywood writers

My favorite Star Trek show is DS9, especially when the ratings were poor and the producers tried to boost the ratings with special episodes of the evil Universe, the creation of the Defiant-A, going back to the past to today and going back in time to Kirk's ship.
My favorite character is the evil Hoshi in "In a Mirror, Darkly" featuring Empress Sato's take over of the advanced technology of the Enterprise of the future. Again, the producers got desperate for ratings. And the results were awesome.
My favorite captain is Jean-Luc-Picard. He seems to be the most genuine because he maintains the same persona during SNL appearances, X-Men and interviews.

Couldn't get into DS9, found Sisko too righteous. Liked the Cardassian v Bajorian angle which i think is quite topical even today. (Occupation of a country and all that).
Favourite captain Jean Luc, Kirk then Janeway. Archer, I could not see past him being Sam Beckett from Quantum Leap.
Favourite character - Worf, B'Lana Torres, Spock then Tuvok as they were all fighting inner demons which left them vunerable, (yet extremely funny) at times. I also loved the doctors in all the series apart from Bashir.

My Fav show is defintely DS9 too! I love the the fact that its different because its set on the station and the whole dominion war arc storyline was brilliant. My fav character is Worf and always will be! I love Klingons! They are alot more fun that humans! My fav captain has to be Archer especially when he broke the rules to achieve his goal. And sometimes he wasn't all that nice! Much more fun than boring old Shatner and Picard!!

In general I think my favorite is TNG....considerably more intelligent (and far better acted) than the original...the rest in order:
DS9
Voyager
Star Trek (original)
Enterprise (yuck, frankly-I think I watched this three times, and two of them were the Brent Spiner appearances)
Character: Worf, easily...was glad to see a lot more Klingon culture, and the character changed (and improved) over the years
Captain: Jean-Luc Picard...class, brains, and he could still kick @ss when he had to

The Next Generation! Too bad it's only in reruns now!
I loved Jordy and Data. They were always assigned together and made a great comedy team!
But my fave character was Worf ~ he was a bad-a**!! I loved his strength!
My fave captain was Jean-Luc Picard. He had heart and smarts!

"Return to Eden" - Spock gets funky with the space hippies! I like the old Star Trek (Captain Kirk, et all) as later series seem somewhat, well, "emasculated". Here's an example:
SCENE: A bar in some dingy planet. All the crew are there.
WORF:Captain, I have noticed that Bajorran over there (gestures) has been making excessive eye contact with myself. May I suggest we arm ourselves with these primitive ceramic containers, and wait until "closing time", by when they will have consumed so much Romulan Blue Ale, we may press on to our advantage, and show them the respect due to the Federation?
PICARD: Mr Worf, thank you for the observation.
WORF: But captain , as security officer.. (he is cut off)
PICARD: Mr Worf, THAT WILL BE ENOUGH.
TROI: I feel your "inner pain". Oooooh.... (She rubs her temples)
See what I mean? Every time the cast are about to realise their full potential, it's: "I feel your anger and inner turmoil".
CRAP!
And don't start me on "Voyager". It's written by Scientologists! "Engramatic episodes" my ****!

Not sure I have a favourite show; but two funny Episodes are "The Trouble with Tribblles" with the original Star Trek series and the corresponding DS9 one when they go back in time to that incident.
Both were very, very funny.
