I don't see how a particular genre of music can be 'cool'
It's down to the individual bands that make up the genre. Some of them have good songs and style. These are cool. Some of them have poor songs and look like idiots. A lot of the followers of 'EMO' music also look like idiots.
In summary, EMO music is not cool, but there may be some bands that are cool, that are considered to be EMO.
Personally I don't know what the hell "EMO music" is... it seems to be identified by the haircuts of the people who like it as much as it's defined by the music.
Just love music, don't shove yourself into any particular scene.

There is no such thing as "emo music". Emo is an image. The bands that people with this image listen to, then get labelled as emo bands. If you were to ask the bands themselves they would probably just say they were a rock band or a metal band.

Don't you just like it when you know that there is another name for depressed or emotional people besides goth [no offence, goths are great, too]?

It's good to depress things out from time to time... But listening to emo music all the time results in depression, maybe even suicide. I've tried it

Music is that one thing that is untouchable. It makes up a part of who you are, so if you like emo, embrace it, it is cool if you believe it is. Hell, I do.
