I believe everything happens for a reason. The reason may not be apparent at the time or even for a long time afterwards, but there is a reason.

Everything happens for a reason. But the reasons usually don't have anything to with justice, right/wrong, grand divine schemes etc. Things happen because they are caused by antecedents, so everything that can happen does happen. I think some people see it as random when they don't know the antecedents, and I guess causality is kinda cruel.

everything happens for a reason. sometimes we do not find out until much later, but it is for a reason. when we experience things like heartache, it may be so that we need to learn what kind of person not to be with (in love) or to appreciate the person we are supposed to be with. if we do not learn a lesson, it just keeps happening. I know it sounds corney. and this is not just in regards to love, but in every part of life. follow your heart, it will lead you to the right place, and eventually you will get on track. this doesn't mean that things will be easy, it just means that you will learn easier from your life experiences. sometimes these lessons carry over into other lives as well. But we are all here to learn in our life.

I believe that there are two factors at work fate/karma/whatever you call it and present effort. It is just a matter of how skillful you are with your present effort to steer this whole boat of your life to the direction you want completely and to overcome obstacles by fate(if the fate is bad) to reach that or to use fate (if the fate is good) as cornerstones to achieve what you want

God has a plan for all of us, we don't know what is the plan, We might makes plans to be an engineer, but lifes turns around and makes you a cop.

I don't think EVERYTHING happens for a reason, but alot of things are meant to be lessons for you to learn from. I believe thats why we are here, and after we have learned what we were sent here to learn then our time is up.

We have free will, so nothing can be set in stone. I believe though, that we have guardian angels who sometimes give us a nudge in the right direction but it is up to us whether to accept the nudge, or go off into another direction.
