just wondering, it sounds a bit daft these days, like you'd probably get the crap kicked out of you if you started singing it on a camping trip...

Im a scout and I've never even heard of it. We spend our time setting stuff on fire, not singing.

Well I was in the scouts about 30 years ago, and we didn't then.
Lots of other daft songs but not that one.

When I started in Scouts we never sang it, but as I become one of the older Scouts me and my friends used to sing it as a joke.

i have been a scout leader for 15 years and yes we do still sing it and other songs when we have a campfire. this may soundlike a good reason for not being a scout but is out weighed by doing archery, shooting, climbing, absieling, canoeing and loads of other cool stuff. not a bad trade off is it?
