I have never seen a moth sleep but I know they do. Why else do you only see them at night trying to reach "the lights". Cows sleep standing up or very rarely they will lie down, they usually do this to chew cud. Owls sleep during the day and like most birds they twist their head round almost 180% and cover it with their wing

Er.... yes. If you go into a barn, or some similar building, it is quite common to see birds roosting in the beams, and then you can see them sleep.
It is also quite common to see chickens sleeping. Go to a farm, and then you can see them with thier heads tucked under their wings, still standing up.
A cow does sit down by the way! And yes, I've seen them sleeping too. They simply settle themselves down on the ground and more often than not, tuck their head into their side and doze off.
Never seen a moth sleep though. Or indeed any insect. Would be virtually impossible to tell when they were asleep, wouldn't it?

Hmm... I admit that I have never seen a moth sleeping... but in all honesty, I haven't ever really observed a moth that close.
I have, however, seen a bird sleep... my daughter has a lovebird, and he sleeps all the time with his eyes closed... and sometimes he even tucks his head into his wing and sleeps. I love watching him get sleepy and try to keep his eyes open... but just like a little kid... he always gives up and eventually shuts his eyes.
I have also seen an owl asleep in our barn when I was younger. He would have his head turned around with his eyes closed during the daylight hours... but he was used to us and didn't seem to mind if we disturbed him.
Lastly, I have seen many cows sleep... and they do lay down when they are tired. In fact, our Jersey cow loved for us to scratch her neck and forehead, and she would sometimes fall asleep while we were doing it.

of course birds sleep you birdbrain why do you see birds going to roost in the evening, owls sleep in the daytime as they are nocturnal, which means that they are awake through the night and hunt through the night, and as for cows go to the countryside, find a field wilh cows in it , trust me some will be lying down..The thing that i want to know is how do they get up when they are on the floor, have you ever tryed to get up of the floor without using your hands or arms its bloody hard. and for moths i think they only live for aprox 24 hrs before they lay there egs and DIE so i dont think sleeping is the first thing on there minds. DO YOU?

I have seen LOTS of animals asleep. Sleeping birds are very cute...either they tuck their chins in or they turn their heads around and tuck their beaks under their wings. I have seen a moth motionless on the wall at night...I guess he might have been sleeping. I have not seen an owl sleeping because they are usually awake when we are asleep...I have seen cows lying down, asleep.

I have seen a bird sleeping. I have an African Grey parrot, he sleeps turning his head round to face behind him and sort of rests it on his shoulder. At first glance, he looks headless lol
I don't know how to tell if a moth is sleeping.
I've seen cows lying down, they do it if it's going to rain - apparently!

I must be luckier than you because I have witnessed Ducks sleeping and cows not only sleeping, but also lying down.......yes you read that right, they were lying down.
Perhaps I may be so bold as to suggest a visit to your local park one hot day or even a day or two in the countryside camping. The things you see would be enlightening for you
