I tend to take the middle of the road approach. I set goals and expect them to be achieved...at the same time I motivate people in positive a manner by empowering them to make the decisions necessary to complete their assigned tasks and giving them the tools and training to do the job properly. I may be firm but I never yell or throw tantrums because it demoralizes people. Life can be miserable enough as it is without being stressed out constantly on the job.

I try to be a coach rather than a boss most of the time. But I can at times be firm when things are not going well to redirect things back onto course. Demanding is left to right before I terminate the employee. If demanding is neccessary they don't belong there.
