hit print screen (next to your function keys at the top of the keyboard) and paste it into word, or similar package.

What exasctly you want to save? if it is a fixed subject ,,as picture ,,or If it is a motion subject as a scene from a video you watch on your screen,,,,
If it is a fixed subject,, then all u need is to click print screen,, then open an image editing program as microsoft photo editor and choose new file and choose size of about 20 cm X 20 cm then choose "paste",,u will find your screen now pasted,, save it as jpg image,,,,
If it is a motion subject,,,then u have to do all the above but after u make your computer hardware acceleration ZERO and not FULL,,,,if u do not know how to make it zero,,, tell me your operating system and I will tell u,, how

Windows: press "Print Screen", go to Paint, press Ctrl-v to paste image, save. Mac: Apple-shift-3 should put image on your desktop.

Hit Print Scrn button, mine is above the F numbers...then paste the image to Paint. Voila! then save the image.. it might look confusing at first, but just minimze all your windows, then open it up again...

What I would do is:

Select the screen you want to save

Click on "Print Screen" button once.. (often abbreviated, such as Prt Scr)

Open "Paint" and paste the screen in

Save As, by giving it a file name, and Save as type "JPEG" or so

Voila!

Actually the above answers are correct, but I believe you need to hold down the ALT key when hitting the PRINT SCRN button. Then paste into Windows Paint or other application using CTRL-V.

i think you hit the print screen key on your keyboard. or you can right click the picture and choose save picture as.
