when Blair was elected in 1997 after about 18 years of Tory garbage he could have changed the UK forever by reforming our useless election system and joining the European currency.
This would have made the UK more democratic and also closer to Europe, instead of having to pretend that there is a special relationship with the USA
Nine years later we have another Tory government waiting in the wings.
Blair is a coward and only wanted the prestige and power of being Prime Minister.

People may not agree with eerything he has done but he has improved the county a little. It was new labour that introduced better benefits for single mothers and improved chances for the unemployed. the public bega disliking him more after the whole Iraq thing, which was not only his choice. Although he has the overall vote he also has a team of advisors and cabinet members that tell him the best road to travel. At least he stands by his mistakes, whether they are right or wrong.

Listen, we can all sput 'poodle' comments liek tabloid reading idiots, or we can look at some of his achievements as well as his failings.

Blair brought in a fixed minimum living wage, somethign we've never had. The NHS has trebled in size, Education ahs been given a HUGE influx of spending. University rates are up, general crime rates have fallen and yes, our Economy under Blair is as strong as its ever been.

The war in Iraq has tarnished his career, i agree, but he isnt the first Prime Minister to do somethign stupid liek that.

Do you rememebr Thatcher, and her war over the Falkland Islands? Do you remember the degredation of her 'rearrangement' of the economy, have you seen what happened to my home the West Midlands after her economic 'liberals' had their way?

Blair has done many good things for the country, hes been a superb Labour Prime Minister and frankly, its a shame to see he's tarnished himself in such a way.

He has not done anything much. The quality of life has plummetted during his regime in Sussex (it started about 1983 though) but he only had part to do with it, but forming the unanswerable Quangoes that cause so much misery.

Margaret Thatcher would have privatised the planners, which is much the same thing.

He has, to a certain degree (id est; the first fortnight of his post) but it's the same old story of late...he's on so many vacations his underlings booger things up whilst he's getting his tans...when the cat's away the mice will play - in this case, trash the whole house, which, unfortunately for us, is the UK.

I, as an American citizen, would like to apologize to you Brits because our moron, Bush, was unbelievably able to con your PM into joining him in one of the biggest mistakes ever made by the western world. If it wasn't for Bush and Blair, you wouldn't be having all these terrorism problems
We are an ocean away. You are a lot closer to the danger.
I'm sorry.
