Not to say I want my feet to be "beautiful" but I am asking mostly of the women out there.....how do you keep your feet beautiful?
SPECIFICALLY....I am asking those of you who stand all day for work as I do. I know wearing shoes is bad on the feet...I moisturize alot and try to exfoliate alot but I can't stay on top of the problem.
Callouses are the main issue. I can't shake them! And yet women seem to have very nice feet [generally]. My feet are horrible...I'm considering seeking professional help from a podiatrist. What do you do? What do you think I should do?

I am getting a variety of answers, ranging from annhilation of tissue (via bicarbonate of soda, limon, and other acids) to softening it in bizarre ways such as soaking in vaseline. I will go with one of the professional answers, but thank you all for the ideas. I will try all of them if possible.

Vaseline
Plastic bags
Before you go to bed, cover your feet with vaseline, cover each witha plactic bag. Tie in a way that teh vaseline doesn't spill out the bag. Put old socks on and sleep. In the morning wash them or shower. You can exfoliate the next night. DO this once a week. Its the fastest easier way to get rid of hard spots. Good luck!

This is a great tip, especially during the cold winter. After showering and exfoliating, rub vaseline onto your feet and then put on a pair of socks and wear it to bed.
Your feet will be very soft after a few days of this! (Don't forget to exfoliate, though!)

I use a glycolic acid 50% chemical peel on my feet regularly as it's more powerful. You can buy a peel through Ebay. I also use Scholl Foot scrub as it's very hydrating and great for removing dead skin. I then use pure jojoba oil to hydrate the feet. Good luck : )

to soften hard built up dead skin, soak your feet for 15 min in warm/hot foot bath with 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda). dry your feed and rub over a mixture of 1/4 cup olive oil and 2 tablespoons apple cider viniegar. then wear socks to bed and have softer feet in the morning.

It certainly couldn't hurt to see a podiatrist. At least he/she can evaluate your feet and let you know why the calluses might be forming. Sometimes it isn't just dry skin but friction from a structural bone deformity.

I just worry about my feet when they are going to be visible and if I don't feel like doing a pedicure and moisturizing, I just wear tennies. If you are concerned you could get a pedicure every couple weeks...they do it all.

first see a pedicurist she (or he...) can usually take care of problems like that, if she says is too bad to handle only then go to a doctor. i think that in general men have rougher skin then women that's why its easier for us to keep our feet looking well...beautiful.

just wear the right foot gear for you so you cant have calouses, its nice to hear that a guy asking for that matters . Continue to mosturised , it really helps. If you have money go to on foot spa and treat yourself like a prince.
