Quit 100/200 yds - train for 400 and 800 yards or meters
and since you need less explosion in these events, and your
age still allows for a maximum performance, go for it. You
will have to train and learn to expect some defeats at first,
but good results will finally come. Longer distances
require more stamina and less explosive effort, and if you
have gained weight, burn it up before entering a big event.
I used to race 100 to 400 and the long jump. In fact I even
won (much to my surprise) a steeplechase without any
preparation. It was only after medical checks came to be
a "must" that I found out that I had a 7.5 litre lung capacity,
so build up your lungs and, if successful you can try the 800.
A trainer can guide and advise you. I wish you success and
congratulations if you go ahead with a comeback.

do you feel too old? Only you can answer the question. Bear in mind a lot of athletes dont ge there best results till later in life when they have years of practice and training behind them. Go for it, you'll never know unless you try.

i just saw five ancient rockers (radio birdman) play a power packed live show. the lead singer looked like he might have a corenary after the first song, but they just continued to belt out fast and furious punk tunes that make some of these young rockers look like the lawrence welk show. you're only twenty-six, man, run like the wind.
