being tan isn't what makes a girl attractive.

what a tan implies is that the girl likes to be at the beach, or out in the sun

You've asked an excellent question that I'm sure is on the minds of a lot of girls and young women like yourself.

Like most people have said already -- yes, pale or lightly-tanned can be attractive.

But there's something more important than that I'd like you to think about. As a pale-skinned person, the more time you expose yourself to radiation, either from the sun or artificially by using tanning beds and the like, the more you are placing yourself at risk of developing skin cancer in the future. And skin cancer can be deadly! The problem is that it can be years before you get affected, so many young people just don't worry about it.

The other problem is that all this radiation speeds up the ageing process for your skin. In other words, you'll get lots of wrinkles and you'll get them sooner. Using skin creams will help but they won't completely prevent the long-term effects.

Take a look at this link to the Skin Cancer Foundation. They really know what they are talking about!

http://www.skincancer.org/artificial/index.php

The main thing is that honest, caring people are attracted to YOU -- the whole person -- and not just to the tone of your skin! And do you really want a guy who is only attracted to you because you have a good tan? Okay, it's fine for a short-term friendship, maybe, but what happens when he sees another young woman with a darker tan than yours?

Guys who really care about the real you will be attracted by your smile, your sense of humor, your thoughtfulness, and the fact that you really care about yourself. Taking care of your skin by not baking it tells them that you're smart, modern and aware!

And in years to come, when all those sunbaking girls are covered in wrinkles long before their time and they're seeing expensive doctors for all those strange, ugly dark spots they're getting, you'll still have lovely skin!

That's when you'll really see the payoff for playing it smart!

I just answered the same question a sec ago to another.
Pale skin is IN! Fake tans look completely skanky. Just look at that horrible Lindsay Lohan. Orange looks baaaad.
Burlesque is huge right now and that 50's pin up look is completely hot with pale skin and dark hair. Instead of trying to make your skin darker, contrast it with dark hair. Dye your hair a rich colour so it looks shiny and healthy and it will contrast nicely making your eyes stand out too. If you like tattoos, they look awesome on pale skin and overtanned skin looks old too early. You are lucky and i would love to be a brunette with pale skin... very sexy look.

Pale skin looks totally gorgeous. And seeing as the summer's over everyone will know you're wearing fake tan. And if you're too pale it looks horrible! Take your inspiration from Lily Donaldson and Lily Cole. They're both pale (spesh Liily Cole) and both gorgeous. Lily Cole sparked this new baby doll trend and the pale thing. Play up your assets don't change them!

I don't really care about that... Actually, what I only hate when a girl had too much of tan bed. Eeewww... It's rather scary. Pale girls are ok. They look kind of innocent princesses. ;)

Depends on how you "wear" your skin. Look at Rose McGowan. She's a hottie who is also kind of pale. I don't know much about make up, but I think the colors you choose to put on also make a difference.

Definately, it doesn't matter if you are blonde or brunette, pale can be sexy. Pale or porcelain skin is far better then super tanned leathery looking skin.
