Im gay and am sick and tired of all you bible bashers offering advice to us gay people. We cant change so why dont you quit with the 'Pray for god' and 'I'll pray for you' speeches? There is no 'god' and if you opened your eyes you would realise that you are all being brainwashed. Look at all the conflict in the world caused by your warped out 'religion'. If there is a god, hes up there now laughing at you all as to how hes conned you into causing so much hatred, segregation and conflict in the world

Hatred is not God-like behavior. I am not a bible thumper although I am a Christian. God made you, and therefore you are in his image.

Do not pay attention to the right wingers who claim to be Christian and would not offer Jesus a drop of water if they met him in the desert.

You are as God made you, and therefore perfect. Ignore the idiots.

Yes, I am also extremely amazed at the amount of people who post things about queer people and religion. It seems like that is all people are thinking about. It seems like issues such as, the political climate in the USA, environmental destruction of the last remaining long growth forests of the world and simple questions like: "When are people going to say enough is enough and vote Bush out?" aren't even appearing. What I have also noticed is that people seem to be taking the Bible and interpreting any which way they choose and therefore, turning thinking people away from study of the Bible, because it is associated with so many twisted and bitter hated filled quotes from people who perhaps have not even read the bible. Plus, Christianity is not the ONLY religion of the world, which makes me think the majority of the people posting here are American's. I mean why else would people be obsessed with gays and the bible, when Americans right now have those things to focus on, and not the disastrous state of their country's political decisions.

Bendy, some of the people you have mentioned are mentally ill. The Internet has opened up a whole new world to these people.

Most Christians and Jews do not believe in the nastiness that some posters use to get their point across in this forum. Always remember that when you come across a particularly hateful reply.

Also remember too that there is a god. He is a very strong-willed but happy and good person and he created you.

Remember too that this forum has done an enormous amount of good for LGBT people, for those questioning their orientation, and for families and friends of non-straight folks.

I hope this helps you and makes you feel better.

Any person professing to be Christian who judges others has not studied Jesus' teaching, and I am sorry that these people have caused you harm.

There is a god laughing at the chaos he has created here, but it isn't the God I worship, only a jumped-up tyrant that man put on the throne. My God has done all He can to rescue as many people as want to be rescued without cancelling out free will. The fact that there are so many people around that harm others is testament to the fact that God would like everyone to be saved, so He gives even them as much chance as possible.

Those that have been saved have the task of building a society without hatred, segregation or conflict, but it is a society for those who choose it, it is not to be forced on anyone.

Well I DO believe in God, but I have noticed that when people are "born again" they become overnight experts on the bible! Seriously! I met these people and I could not even say something neutral to them like Good Morning, without them starting on Yes God gave us a beautiful day, praise God ect...........Yes I think religion is the cause of wars. But then I think Bush was sent to the White House by forces connected with Satan himself!!!!!!

I think you have a point that "religious" people saying they will pray for us is always a touch condescending.
At the same time, if they believe in a god, then that is fine, you don't believe in one - so don't criticise them for what they think.
It is possible to be gay and believe in god. By the way, god is the epitome of good. So laughing at peopl's misery is a bit out of the question. It is us who have created the misery in this world through our greed and hatred.
There is segretation through out the world - gay/straight, male/female, black/white good/bad, ..... religion is not the root of all evil.
Think you need to calm your jets!

Unfortunately many people on this planet suffer from a mental illness called Christianity. No cure has been found for this in 2000 years, but secularisation is offering hope to all those who have to suffer with the condition. Penicillin didn't seem to get rid of it.

It's a pity that you've been so burned by religion, but then on reflection, it isn't surprising ... I was reared a Catholic and in the last few years the horror stories of sexual abuse within the Catholic church have come out ...

I'm not a bible basher, but there are other paths, not necessarily Christian ... and they are accepting of all people. I hope you find whichever one suits you. :-)

Many gays are religious -- some are even literalists. I myself am a mainstreamer -- there are many religious bodies that support gay rights and yes, even gay marriage.

That's what this whole battle is really all about, using the government to silence those churches that don't agree with the extremists.

Hear hear. I am not gay, but i totally agree with your views on religion. If there was a God, then good people would not die too soon. My father lost a very good friend in Northen Ireland back in the 70's because of the problems there, he wasn't a religious man but died because of it.
I am going to a christening on Sunday, which I really don't want to as I am not religious, neither are the parents of the child being Christened. In my eyes a Christening is just another excuse to get more presents out of people, which is why I refuse to buy a gift.
I am only going because we live away and the family would like to see us and our baby (who is not being Christened).

And God did not make me, my parents did that!
