boo's suggestion about self control may have hit the spot.

What I thought was that since they take up sugar less efficiently than do non-smokers, they require a higher blood sugar level to compensate.

Well I don't know, but my dad (smoker) sure as hell did consume more sugar than my mom (non-smoker). Perhaps it has got to do with the amount of self-control?

Well i have been smoking for the past 7 years and no I do not consume a lot of sugar.
