Establishing a consistent sleep routine is one of the most important ways to ensure that you get a good night’s sleep. If you consistently go to bed at 11:00 pm, but find yourself always tired during the day, forgo the extra hour of TV or reading to see if you notice a difference in your daytime alertness. Chances are you will see an improvement. The human body has a wonderful way of self-regulating.

If you drink or eat forms of caffeine - take it out of your diet completely.
I find that leaving off liquids after 8:00 at night helps. Otherwise - for some strange reason, I just can't sleep.
Don't exercise too close to bedtime - there will be too much adrenalin in your blood. Anything that increases your adrenalin for that matter will affect your sleep.
Eat a healthy diet and lay of mono-sodium glutamate - if you eat alot of processed, packaged or fast foods. That will keep you awake.
Stay away from sugary drinks and food.
Simply speaking, your diet might have alot to do with it. Check it out!
Good luck!
