this happens when either modem or the network card is not working properly...this can also be a problem from the ISP's side....try geting some help from the internet service provider...]

You don't say how you are connecting to the internet .is it wirelessly via a pcmcia card or wired from an external USB modem. If it's the latter then there a good chance that your modem is not very good at holding onto what could be a weak signal. Borrow another modem made by another manufacturer (preferably not sagem, they are notorious for dropping signal, preferably a fujitsu which are very good at holding a signal).
If it's the former look to see if someone else is not "piggy backing"/using your wireless connection.

Are you using a WiFi connection, if so it is probably due to interference from cordless phones. I work at home, and if my neighbours phone goes off, my signal drops.

My solution was to get a high gain directional aerial. Simple ones are available for £15 from Maplins, or quite fancy ones from various web sources.

What hardware are you removing? Do you mean software?
I'd ring your ISP first &/or your laptop manufacturer. There are known issues between certain mixtures of kit & ISPs eg BT Wi-Fi & HP/COMPAQ.

Use sellotape. That should stop it.
