Do you think Lizzie Borden really killed her father and stepmother? Why or why not? How much did race and class privilege affect Lizzie''s trial?

How does the Lizzie Borden case compare to some recent cases in which race, class, or gender have played a large role.

Any information will be helpful for me. Thanks

Lizzie was found Not Guilty; she was not found innocent. Given all the evidence against her, the verdict was likely related to a number of extraneous reasons: her youth, her wealth, the towns standing, property value of the neighboring houses, denial; her girlish demeanor probably helped too.

Lizzie Borden took an axe,
and gave her daddy 40 whacks.
When she seen what she done,
she gave her mommy 41.

She was found innocent by a jury of her peers. People felt that she was guilty then and many still feel that she was guilty even though the evidence is somewhat circumstantial. Her father was a strict, stingy, and unforgiving man. If she did the deed, she had help from an outside source or at least the colaberation of her sister. They both benefited but later alienated theirselves from one another which leads one to believe that one or both were guilty. Today, forensic evidence would definitely convict Lizzie, if in fact she was guilty. In summary - she remains innocent.

She soooooo did it. In australia, there was a case recently about a man named paul nemer. he was originally let off becaise of the wealth his family had, even though he did it. Another good one is the basis for Bob Dylans song 'Hurricane'. that actually haappened in America in the sixties, if u google the song, u'll probably get some info on it.

I took a classification at Sam Houston State in Huntsville and my instructor had written a tale referred to as "She could no longer have achieved it whether she Did". It became into bearing directly to the case and if centred on the undeniable fact that for the time of the Victorian era ladies have been organic and weren't wide-unfold to even think of of doing so depraved. the way it became into written that the sister became into the single that easily commited the crime. check out the cyber web for Articles by making use of Dr. James Olson from Sam Houston State college.
