I am recovering from a mental illness fairly well and was loking for voluntary work to meet people again. One charity interviewer told me that my outfit looked out of fashion. "We do not want people thinking we can't be trusted with their money, do we ?"
I was sad as my late partner loved these clothes.
New outfit or another charity ?
Sincerely, Rose P.

Shame on that flaming idiot!!!! Another Charity darling! As long as your clothes are clean, tasteful, and tidy, no reasonable interviewer should turn you down based on your attire. Wear whats appropriate, and if it happens to be what your late partner liked on you, all the better to boost your confidence with happy memories. Good luck and God bless.

New charity. Heck, you're a volunteer!

However, if you are going to interviews, I'd recommend dressing up a little. It doesn't have to be "high fashion" or anything, just clothes that aren't ripped or faded. Plus, it might make you feel better to dress up a little. Later, you can usually get by with dressing down. Watch the other volunteers for clues on how to dress.

If you were all decked out in expensive clothes, then people might think that you can't be trusted.....that you're spending charity money on yourself. I say new charity. But, it would probably make you feel better to get some new clothes in order to sort of move ahead with your life. Good luck.

New charity! And you don't need new clothes, just wait a couple of years and it'll be back in style.
